Park Road, Keynsham
Boyer Planning secured planning permission on behalf of Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd. in July 2011 for the construction of 285 dwellings on a 12 hectare site in Keynsham, Bath. Boyer Planning was first instructed on the promotion of this site in 1999, at which time it formed part of the Bristol-Bath Green Belt. Following successful promotion through the Structure Plan and Local Plan processes the site was allocated in the adopted Local Plan for housing, as part of a larger mixed use development, in 2006.

Masterplanning began in 2007 with a planning application submitted to Bath and North East Somerset Council in November 2009. Following the decision by a Member of the Council’s Planning Committee to refuse the application contrary to the Planning Officer’s recommendation, Boyer Planning progressed the appeal through to a five day Public Inquiry in June 2011. The Inspector then allowed the appeal.
In addition to housing, the development comprises local retail and employment floor space, an extension to the adjoining local primary school, playing field, equipped children’s play areas, and public open space. The development has been carefully designed to protect and enhance adjacent woodland and retain hedgerows and trees. It will also bring improvements to the wider Keynsham area in terms of improved pedestrian, cycle and public transport facilities and highway network improvements.
